MEET CAMILO

Niemierko Hosts

ON HAND WITH THE HOSTS - CAMILO

Camilo guarantees good service. Capable and efficient he understands why an event needs to run like clockwork. Happy to give up his Valentine’s Day to bring joy to the doorsteps of Niemierko Brides and being part of the A-team to create remarkable memories. Camilo is an essential ingredient to a Niemierko Wedding Day…

Highlight Niemierko Job…

I have been working with Mark since 2013, and it is no overstatement to say that every event is unique and dynamic. I thoroughly enjoy weddings, but my favourite Niemierko job has to be Valentine’s Day; every year, his sends us out as cupids to deliver romantic gifts to Brides and Grooms.  Although there were some spots of confusion wherein the client would incorrectly assume that I was the gift… no matter, I’d blush, wish them a happy Valentine’s and say there’s always next year.

Behind the scenes of a Niemierko Event…

I especially recall a wedding at Cliveden House – a memorable one for me as Dom, another host, and I were working at an event in Paris the night before and had to overnight it to the wedding in time for guest arrivals. Needless to say, we made it in time as professionals do. Less professionally perhaps, we also found ourselves having fallen asleep in the outmess during the afternoon interval in full tailcoats and waking up to the sound of Mark demanding an almond milk cappuccino.

Fav Niemierko Couple…

Personally, the Savile Club engagement.  Mark assigned me to look after the Grooms mother. They were very grateful and took the time to ask my name and had such class. All Mark’s couples tend to be wonderful – he knows how to pick ‘em as he clearly only works with the people wants to.

What makes Niemierko iconic…

Quite simply, it is magic at Swiss precision. A Niemierko event, especially weddings, is a practice in world-building; he creates this world for the Bride and Groom full of wonder, whilst slyly hiding the massive amounts of stress and hard-work that inevitably goes into creating that feeling for them. Anything less is unacceptable. I do believe he overworks himself throughout the day – however, I love that moment towards the end of the afterparty, when the work is winding down, the couple are over the moon with the party, and Mark relaxes with us in the outmess over some laughs and midnight coffees. Another job well done.

Out-there uniforms….

Hands down, the Arabic attire, complete with makeup, traditional thawb and sandals, for his Arabian Nights Cabaret party. At the Battersea Park wedding, Mark made us wear mandatory flashing neon glasses for the party whilst we served, a pair of which I still have (sorry, Mark).

The Bizarre…

It is hard to top being assigned to attend to the children of the Althorp House wedding, whereby the children would press a button and I’d appear with cookies and doughnuts.  Needless to say, that button took a beating…

Funny moments…

A Children’s Christmas event, Santa himself publicly put Mark on the naughty list.

The Naughty parties…. Are they really that naughty…

Mark makes no secret of pushing boundaries with performances and going where the party demands to go. However, even if at times the chaos verges on shocking, it is always tasteful.

Describe Mark…

Mark is sometimes tough, but always fair. He rewards hard work and that’s why we, his regulars, are all still here. However, it still never ceases to amaze me when after a week or so after every single job, each of us receives in the post a handwritten letter of thanks from Mark, which goes to show a certain degree of class.  The devil in the detail.
