RUBY’S RULES

Party guide from the little lady

Ideally with your party theme pick two contrasting colours to work with when dressing your venue. For my flamingo bash we chose pink and a pastel green.

An entertainer should be booked for the whole event. Helping welcome the children, pick out your friends that maybe a bit shy at first and ensure they soon get into the party. Niemierko Kid’s have hosts dressed in outfits to match the theme.

Fancy dress can always be super fun, especially in picking out your outfit in advance. But you can just have simple dress codes, such as "Dress up in shades of pink..." Or have props at the entrance that the guests have to put on… like Crowns and Tiaras in our Kings and Queens theme.

Bespoke cupcakes. Simply order your favourite cupcakes plain and dress with special toppers you’ve purchased yourself.

Paper party hats are a bit done. Instead head down your high-street and buy oversized hairbands – Topshop and Accessorize are amazing for these. Perfect for you and your girlfriends to fit your theme, with matching hairbands. Plus they double up as party gifts.

Want a pop star at your party? But don’t fancy booking their private jet. Then book cardboard cut outs of your favourite star. Your guests can then use the cardboard cut-out to write Birthday Wishes to you over the star… a cool keepsake! Obv mine would be all 5 of 1D!

When it comes to savoury food don’t stress your mum in the kitchen. Food carts and tricycles…. Not only do they take away the issue of catering but they instantly dress the venue in your theme.

It’s important to say Thank You. My Uncle designed me my own monogram and correspondence set. With your invitations get matching thank you cards designed. A handwritten note is such a rare thing nowadays, so it’s instantly special and sets you apart in the playground.
